Gaston Bushiri is a Controller/Assistant Chief Financial Officer skilled at partnering with physician group finance department, hospital, and health plan executives to implement strategic and operational business planning of multi-hospital/facility healthcare systems. He has more than 15 years of financial experience, 12 of them in healthcare finance.
His current role is as Controller for Southern Regional Medical Center (one of the top three best performing Prime Healthcare 49 hospitals). In this role, he is responsible for providing leadership and strategic direction in managing the finance and accounting staff, coordinating general ledger accounting, financial reporting, accounts payable, payroll, financial analysis, treasury, direct and indirect internal control, and management of audit.
Before joining Southern Regional Medical Center, Gaston served as Assistant Chief Financial Officer for Paris Regional Medical Center (RCCH, now LifePoint Health), where he was charged with assisting the C-Suite to develop the Health System's Financial Strategic Plan and applicable Business Plans, overseeing all aspects of the Health System's Annual Operating and Capital Budgeting Plans as well as the Long-Range Financial Plan including oversight of accounting, patient accounting, Health Information Management, and the Medical Group staff of 90+ employees. Prior to RCCH, he was with Cape Fear Valley Health System, and the Southeast Permanente Medical Group (Kaiser Permanente of Georgia). He is a Certified Public Accountant in Georgia, earned an MBA and an MHA from Georgia State University, and his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
